AB '64 Columbia College NY, NY. Ph.D '68 Case-Western Reserve U., Cleveland Ohio Joe was a student of Arthur Pollister at Columbia, a student of Michael Locke at CWRU and a postdoc with Gerry Wyatt at Yale. He rose from Asst. Professor to Full Professor at UMass Amherst and after 42 years of teaching and research he is Emeritus Professor at UMass and now Research Professor at University of New England Biddeford Maine. He is currently using various physical methods, Electron Microprobe, Raman Spectroscopy, FTIR and microCT to study American lobster cuticle. Discovery of new structures in the lobster cuticle requires some new terminology not yet available in the general literature and some logical terminology not yet available at this Dictionary of Invertebrate Zoology. I would like to participate in descriptions available at this site and document their legitimacy.
