cyanoblast (noun; Greek kyaneos, dark-blue; blastos, bud): The immature stage of a cyanocyte (hemocyte) that contains polyribosomes, cisternae often filled with dense granular material, small Golgi apparatus and mitochondria; reported to be typical of an active protein-synthesizing and storing cell.
