cysticercoid (adjective; Greek kystis, bladder; kerkos, tail; eidos, form): (Platyhelminthes: Cestoda) A tapeworm cyclophyllidean metacestode developing from an oncosphere that has penetrated the gut of an intermediate host; it usually has a “tail” and a wellformed scolex that is not invaginated.
