internode (noun; Latin inter, between; nodus, swelling): 1. The interval or part between two nodes or joints.
2. (Bryozoa) That segment of a jointed colony between surfaces of articulation.
3. (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) A small repeated section of the stem or hydrocladium separated by a constriction of the perisarc.
