anastrophic (adjective; Greek ana, backwards; strephein, to turn): (Mollusca: Gastropoda) In Prosobranchia, as in Architectonica, pertaining to a heterostrophic shell with the protoconch coiled about the same axis as the teloconch and the nucleus directed toward the base of the shell.
