pleural wing process: 1. The dorsal margin of the pleural ridge that articulates with the second axillary sclerite in the wing base.

2. In Culicidae mesothorax, located posterior to the basalare at the apex of the posterior mesanepisterum; in the metathorax, behind the basalare at the apex of the metepisternum.
