trophothylax (noun; Greek trophe, food; thylax, sack): (Arthropoda: Insecta) In Hymenoptera Formicidae, a specialized pouch of Pseudomyrmecinae larvae located on the ventral part of the thorax just beneath the mouth parts that receives food pellets; a feed bag.
