paurostyle (noun; Greek pauros, little; stylos, pillar): (Bryozoa: Stenolaemata) A type of stylet of cryptostomates with an irregular rod of nonlaminated material, with laminae weakly deflected toward the zoarial surface; usually smaller than acanthostyles.
