paraxial (adjective; Greek para, beside; Latin axis, axle): 1. To move parallel to the body axis.

2. par-axial (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) In spiders, pertaining to chelicerae with the paturon projecting forward with the fangs moving in a downward direction.
