mesocoel (noun; Greek mesos, middle; koilos, hollow): 1. The body cavity of the second division of the deuterostome body.

2. (Bryozoa) Assumed to be the cavity within and at the base of the tentacles.

3. (Mollusca) Second or middle division of the coelom.
