longitudinal muscle: 1. (Echiura) Layer of longitudinal muscle of the body wall sometimes thickened into bundles.

2. (NEMATA) The somatic muscles of nematodes.

3. (Sipuncula) Innermost layers of muscle that make up the body wall of the trunk.
