intersegmentalia (noun, plural; singular intersegmentalium; Latin inter, between; segmentum, part): (Arthropoda: Insecta) 1. Dorsal and ventral plates associated with narrow intersegmental sclerites which develop in the intersegmental folds. 2. Setiferous areas associated with the mesothoracic spiracles in scarab beetles.
