Basidiocarps annual, laterally substipitate to sessile, imbricate, sometimes occurring in large imbricate clusters up to 100 cm or more extent; pilei dimidiate to flabelliform, up to 40 cm long, upper surface citric yellow to orange when fresh, bright ochraceous when dry, minutely tomentose to glabrous, azonate to faintly zonate, radiately furrowed; pore surface sulphur yellow when fresh, fading to pale tan on drying; pores nearly circular at first, becoming more angular in age, 2-5 per mm, with thin dissepiments that quickly become lacerate; tube layer up to 4 mm; context white to cream azonate, brittle and sappy or succulent when fresh, up to 2cm thick, rapidly becoming crumbly and white in old deteriorating specimens; taste and oder nut like, pleasant. Hyphal system dimitic; contextual generative hyphae thin-walled, hyaline, simple-septate, with rare branching, up to 15 µm in diam.; contextual binding hyphae firm- to thick-walled, hyaline, nonseptate, much branched and interlocking, up to 18 µm in diam.; tramal generative hyphae thin-walled, hyaline simple-septate, 2.5-5.0 µm in diam.; tramal skeletal hyphae thick- to firm-walled, 2.5-5.0 µm in diam. Basidia clavate, 4 sterigmate, 11- 26 ×6-7 µm. Basidiospores ovoid to ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth, IKI-, CB-, 5.0-7.0 ×3.5-5.0 µm, L = 6.0µm, W = 4.4 µm, r = 1.38, R = 1.20-1.66.
