Megachile argentata (Fabricius, 1793) Valletta
Distribution: Algeria, Hungary The species M. argentata has often been confounded with Megachile leachella (Curtis, 1828) (Schwarz and Gusenleitner 2011), but the latter has not been recorded from the Maltese Islands. M. leachella is present in Continental Europe and North Africa.
