If the pileus shape is round, see "Pileus width (cm), basidiocarp width (resupinate species)" .

If the pileus shape is flabelliform, petaloid, spatulate, dimidiate, semicircular or elongated, pileus length shows the longest part of the pileus that is parallel to the substrate.

If the basidiocarp is resupinate (apileate) and is looked on a rectangle, length is the longer side of the basidiocarp.

傘の形状が円形の場合、「傘の幅、子実体の幅（背着生の種 」参照。

傘の形状が扇型、花びら型、へら型、貝殻型、半円型あるいは細長型の子実体の場合は、基質と平行な傘の最長部分の長さをさす。

傘の形状が背着生(傘がない）で長方形とみなされるの場合は、長い辺をさす。
