No locality given. Taxon label in Crosse’s handwriting (?).
Dimensions
“Long. 88–95, diam. maj. 47–56 mill.”; specimen figured herein H 94.5, D 55.5, W 6.5.
Type material
NHMUK 1929.9.14.4, syntype, ex Marie coll.
Remarks
A label (from Crosse?) with the note “type” is glued on the dorsal side of the last whorl. Neubert et al. (2009)[3] have commented on the type locality of this material, noting it to be erroneous or based on introduced material. A further syntype is in the MNHN collection.
Current systematic position. Bothriembryontidae, Placostylus fibratus guestieri (Gassies, 1869).
