Bulimus pinicola Gassies, 1870 – Wikispecies link – Pensoft Profile

Type locality

“Insula Pinorum, Novae Caledoniae”.

Label

Only a taxon label “Bulimus pinicula” in Gassies handwriting, marked “T”.

Dimensions

“Long. 90, diam. maj. 44 mill.”; specimen figured herein H 92.8, D 44.3, W 6.7.

Type material

NHMUK 1883.11.10.1164, one syntype (ex Gassies).

Remarks

Marked “T” on last whorl besides aperture. Gassies (1870)[1] stated that he had seen three specimens.

Current systematic position

Bothriembryontidae, Placostylus fibratus guestieri (Gassies, 1869).
