Ordo: Coleoptera
Familia: Staphylinidae
Genus: Quedius
Name
Quedius suturalis Kiesenwetter, 1845 – Wikispecies link – Pensoft Profile
- Quedius merlini Drugmand & Bruge 1991, syn. n.
Remarks
Quedius merlini was described from three specimens (one male, two females) collected in Belgium (Tenneville, Fange Massa) in 1986 in a Lundgren trap (Drugmand and Bruge 1991[1]). Unfortunately the type material of this species was not located at the Royal Institute of Natural Science at Brussels, but the original description and illustrations of Quedius merlini leave no doubts that those specimens are misidentified Quedius suturalis Ksw. After the description, Quedius merlini was never recorded again either in Belgium or anywhere else. For such an entomologically popular region as Central Europe, this is additional evidence that Quedius merlini is not a valid species.
