Comments

References to Cephalota zarudniana vartianorum (Mandl, 1967) as Cephalota deserticola (Faldermann, 1836) (Chikatunov et al. 2006[7]; Ptashkovsky 2009[8]) were based on two mis-identified males from Qalya by K. Mandl. According to Franzen and Wiesner (1998)[9] Cephalota deserticola is distributed in the western part of Central Asia, as well as in Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia and north-eastern Turkey.
