Shape when looking from the side of pileus (cross section)

  1. convex: broadly obtuse, rounded like an inverted bowl.
  2. plane (applanate): flatten out, horizontally expanded.
  3. applanate with umbo: horizontally expanded but having a raised, conical to convex knob or mound on the center.
  4. ungulate: hoof-shaped.
  5. triquetrous: three-edged, having three salient angles.
