I am a Plant Pathologist, currently working as a Lecturer at the National University of Lesotho, Department of Biology with several attachments of my expertise in teaching and research endeavours.I have over 10years of experience in research and University sectors. My full time teaching and research duties are complemented by a consulting affiliation with several organizations. I have earned my B.Sc in Biology and M.Sc in Applied Microbiology from Addis Ababa University Ethiopia in 1991 and 2000, respectively. I was awarded the prestigious PhD fellowship by the World Bank through the Agricultural Research and Training Program (ARTP), Alemaya University in 2003 to pursue my study in Applied Microbiology/ Plant Pathology in the Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology, University of Pretoria, South Africa and graduated in 2007.

I have published a book on Postharvest Biological Control of citrus disease using plant extracts and microbial antagonists from Ethiopia and several other articles in this and related fields. I served as a principal investigator (PI) for African Technology Policy System (ATPs) project working on Indigenous and Emerging Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation in Africa and heading two other proposed community based research projects. Currently, I am teaching Microbiology, Growth and Death of Microorganisms, Microbial Ecology and Food Safety courses and advised undergraduate and postgraduate students.
