Diagnosis
Diagnosis.Eurygenys bilbo is a small testaceous species with darker mesosoma characterized by very long antennae and a dense mesosomal pilosity which hides the propodeum sculpture.
Description
Description. FEMALE. L: 8.7. Head. Strongly constricted behind eyes. Temples short and rounded. Frons shagreened, matt. Face and clypeus densely punctate-shagreened with dense white hairs, punctures confluent. Clypeus subtriangular without distinct transverse carina (Ci = 1.4). Malar space short (MLMi = 0.7). Maxillar and labial palpi with 4 and 3 segments respectively. Antenna 1.3 x longer than body, with 57 flagellomeres. Mesosoma. Entire mesosoma densely covered with long white hairs. Mesonotum and all pleurae deeply and densely punctate-shagreened. Speculum smooth. Propodeal carination coarse, hidden by long white hairs: basal carina incomplete, apical carina complete but centrally indistinct, longitudinal carinae absent. Propodeal apophyses well developed. Propodeal spiracles ovale. Tarsal claws basally pectinate. Metasoma. Smooth. Tergite II narrow, about 4 x longer than wide, the following tergites strongly compressed. Glymma absent. Ovipositor short (OTi = 0.5). Color. Orange: head, mesosoma, base of metasoma and legs testaceous, antennae distal of article 9, second and following tergites, orange. Fuscous: occiput, mesosternum, speculum, scuto-scutellar groove, tegula, base of propodeum and postpetiole. Wings slightly infuscate apically, pterostigma elongated, light brown. MALE. Unknown.
