Basidiocarps annual, laterally substipitate to sessile, usually imbricate often in large clusters, rarely single; pileus dimidiate to flabelliform, up to 34 cm long, 20 cm wide, upper surface light orange to reddish orange when fresh, fading to pale brownish with age or drying, glabrous, azonate to faintly zonate, radiately furrowed; pore surface yellow when fresh, fading to pale tan on drying, pores nearly circular at first, becoming more angular in age, 2-4 per mm, with thin dissepiments that quickly become lacerate; tube layer lemon yellow when fresh, drying pale buff, up to 1.5 mm thick; context white to yellowish white, azonate, brittle and sappy or succulent when fresh, up to 1.8 cm thick, rapidly becoming crumbly, chalky and white in old deteriorating specimens; taste mild, odor fruity, pleasant.
