This template is recommended to add at the top of taxon pages which are derived from an original article. It links to the publication and informs that much, but not necessarily all content is derived from that publication and needs to be attributed to these authors.
A major reason to include this notice is to address two concerns of the original authors:
- that they are not sufficiently attributed for the information, although they have supplied perhaps 99%
- that they are held responsible for later changes, which introduce an error.
Parameters:
- Formatted page title (main part of the wiki page title)
- Formatted page subtitle (together the two titles, after stripping formatting, must be identical with the actual page title)
CHANGED, NEW (following BibTeX):
- | url = the Original publication URL (a web page starting with "http"; alternative to Original publication page)
- | author = Author1, Firstname AND Author2, Firstname AND Author3, Firstname
- | year = 2011
- | title = Revision of X
- | journal = ZooKeys
- | publisher = Pensoft Publishers
- | volume = 84
- | pages = 39--57
- | doi = 10.1234/some.99.123
Example (with dummy links):
{{Publication to wiki notice | author = Author1, A. AND Author2, B. | year = 2011 | title =''Homo sapiens'': An example with a species name. | journal = JournalTitle | journalurl = JournalURL | volume: 45 | pages=234--345 | doi = 10.1234/some.99.123 | url = http://www.species-id.net/xxx | publisher = Pensoft Publishers }}

Further contributors may edit and improve the content of this page and, consequently, need to be credited as well (see page history). Any assessment of factual correctness requires a careful review of the original article as well as of subsequent contributions.
If you are uncertain whether your planned contribution is correct or not, we suggest that you use the associated discussion page instead of editing the page directly. This page should be cited as follows (rationale):
