| Description | The mid- to late-1990s seal of the United States Agency for International Development. It is the name of the agency around the shield designed in the mid 1990s, which in turn was an update of an emblem used since the 1950s by predecessor agencies. The seal was also used as the agency identifier from 2001 to 2004, when a new logo -- a simplified version of this seal -- was designed for that purpose. For more information, see USAID's branding guidelines, in particular the Graphic Standards Manual. |
